The Ashes

The decision to host the first in the 2009 Ashes series in Cardiff may have proven controversial ahead of the event, but the nailbiting finish and packed ground demonstrated that Wales really knows how to host major sporting events.

 

And all the street dressing – on railings, lampposts and surrounding buildings, that added to the drama and colour of the occasion? That was produced and installed by Genesis. The banners were the City’s chance to build awareness and tension for the crowds… as well as let the huge worldwide TV audience watching the crowds arriving that the Ashes had finally come to ‘Old South Wales’!

 

Backdrop after backdrop to TV interviews and reportage displayed those banners to maximum effect.

 

As ever, once the crowds had dissipated, Genesis was there to take down the banners and leave the city ready to start the next day afresh.
